Description
An address layer is any layer that contains dot-shaped objects.
Before you can work with address data, you first need to import them.
Here upload system address layers.
During the import action, each address is assigned to the corresponding position on the map.
The imported address data are stored on a separate layer.
You cannot display data with addresses, such as customer addresses, locations, resources or orders on the map or plan with these data until you have successfully completed importing and geocoding the data.
The address layer can be accessed by
Click on menu bar --> Click on <System layer> menu → Select Addresses
To Import address layer, proceed as follows
1. Open System layer address import wizard by 'Click on menu bar --> Click on <System layer> menu → Select Addresses'.
By default address filled in the type list.
2. Import address file.
Click on <Choose file> button to upload the required file.
or you can upload the File from the server. In the file from the server, listing all the uploaded files by the login user.
3. Click on <Next> button.
4. In the Table name field, select the desired table. The Table name field shows the names of the existing tables
The table will now be displayed in Preview.
If you import contents as a text file you must enter the following data:
- Select proper Encoding type. Following encoding types are available:-
- ISO-8859-1
- ANSI
- UNICODE
- OEM
- UTF-8
- Select the proper decimal(Comma or point).
- In the area Delimiter, enter which separator divides the fields of a data record
- Enable the First line contains field names option, if the first line of the file you are importing contains the field names.
In the ID field, select a unique field (Primary key)
Enter the required layer name in Layer Name field
5. Click on <Next> button.
6. Data target area and column type specification
In the Data target area, select/enter target column name and set the proper data type for each field in the uploaded file.
Remove the unwanted field by removing the tick mark of the checkbox.
7. Click on <Next> button.
8. Displaying Geocoding section.
Select Geographic reference as Addresses/coordinates
If you choose to import via addresses, proceed as follows:
- Map the fields Country code, Postcode, Town, District, Street and House number with the corresponding fields in your data tables. If there are no matching fields, select - Select- .
- At the bottom area, in the Default country code field, enter the country in which the addresses are located.
- Enable the option Append geocoded addresses if you are importing data via address details and want to determine and append the coordinates in the process.
If you choose to import via coordinates, follow these steps:
- Map the fields X coordinates and Y coordinates to the corresponding fields in your data tables.
- Select the coordinate format that your data use.
Coordinate formats are
- Geodecimal (+/-GGG, NNNNNN; Eg:"10,736805555")
- Mercator (map & guide co-ordinate)
- GMS 1 (GGGMMSS; Eg: "0104412")
- GMS 2 (GGGMMSSS; Eg: "01044125")
9. Click <Finish> button
The post - Geocoding button is shown if the data records that were not geocoded.
User will find the addresses as a data table in the Layers area and as a map level in the map.
User can delete imported address layer in Manage system layer screen.
