Description
You can use this function to portray dot-shaped objects as an area.
After doing a territory planning, typically multiple base objects are allocated to a planning object.
To enable an area type visualisation of dot-shaped planning objects in addition to visualising these allocations through colours and connecting lines, Edit, you first need to calculate the areas.
You can calculate areas either via a sales area layer, or using radii:
To do calculate address areas, proceed as follows:-
1. You can access Calculate address areas by
Click on menu → Select <Calculate address areas> under Data Analysis menu.
2. In the Planning layer selection box, select the desired planning layer.
3. In the base layer selection box, select base layer.
4. If necessary, enable the option Consider objects without allocations.
5. In the calculation, there are two options are available
Across area layer |
The project must contain a area layer for this option, for example postcode areas. The base objects are geographically allocated to the individual areas. The area for the respective planning object is calculated from the areas in which the base objects allocated to the planning objects exist. |
Across Radius |
Circular areas are calculated for the base objects allocated to a planning object. The area for the planning object is calculated from the sales areas. The extent of the radii is defined by the edge width. The margin width value must be > 0. |
You can identify the area calculation of dot-shaped objects in the layer overview, Layer overview setting.
Internally, however, the layer remains a dot layer and can thus be reverted.
You cannot perform analysis or planning functions for the calculated area as you would for predefined sales area layers.
If you select the option' across area layer' in calculation, then
select the sales area which you will be assigning to the base objects as an area.
6. Click on button.
7. If you select the option 'across radius' in calculation, then
In the corresponding input field, enter margin width.
8. Click on button.
Undoing generated address areas Undo
1. Configure the same layers as used for calculating the address areas.
2. Click Undo.
The address areas you generated are reverted and the previous status is reinstated.
